On News24 tv, in the Sinteze show with moderator Brenton Kotorri, we debated the effect of the territorial reform and whether the municipalities are failing.
I emphasized to the public that:
– municipalities are public institutions and as such do not go bankrupt (as usually happens with business)
– their financial difficulties require longer management from their leaders.
– 10 years after the territorial reform, the dilemma “representation/local democracy vs economy of scale” is still not moving away from what was promised.
